Our approach

We collect the minimum personal information needed to operate the platform, and we tell you what we do with it.

What we collect

• Account information: your name, email address, and optionally a phone number.
• Enquiry information: when you request a quote we collect your name, email, optional phone number, and what you told us about your requirement.
• Business information: if you manage a listing, the business details you supply, including any documents you submit for verification.
• Technical information: a hashed form of your IP address and user agent, used for rate limiting and abuse prevention. We do not store raw IP addresses alongside your account.
• Search queries: the text of searches, stored without any identifier that links them to you, so we can improve matching.

What we do not collect

We do not buy personal data from third parties. We do not track you across other websites. We do not use advertising trackers on this platform.

Why we process it

• To operate your account and let you manage a listing.
• To pass an enquiry to the business you chose to contact.
• To prevent abuse, spam and fraudulent claims.
• To improve categories, synonyms and matching.
• To send you service messages about your account or an enquiry.

Marketing messages are sent only if you separately opted in. That choice is never pre-ticked and you can withdraw it at any time.

Who we share it with

• The business you send an enquiry to receives the contact details and requirement you supplied. Nothing else.
• Our hosting provider stores the data as part of running the platform.
• We disclose information where we are legally required to.

We do not sell personal information.

Customer contact details are never published

A user's contact details are visible to the business they contacted and to authorised administrators. They are never shown on a public page.

Verification documents

Documents submitted for verification are stored in private storage outside the public website, with randomised filenames. They are readable only by authorised administrators, and each access is logged. They are never linked publicly, never appear in a sitemap, and are never served as a static file.

Retention

• Account data: while your account is open, and for a limited period afterwards where we are required to keep records.
• Enquiries: retained so the business and you both have a record; you may ask us to delete yours.
• Verification documents: retained for the period shown on the record, then deleted.
• Rate-limiting and login records: short retention, then deleted.

You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, or delete it. See the Data Request & Deletion page.
