Two separate systems

This platform runs paid visibility and organic discovery as two independent systems.

Paid visibility

Elite and Featured are advertising. They are sold, they are time-limited, and they are always labelled "Elite · Sponsored" or "Featured · Sponsored". Within paid inventory, position is set by an internal priority value and the campaign dates.

Organic discovery

Organic listings are ordered by: verification status, the LocalDubai Profile Score, how current the business information is, how well the business matches the category, service and area of the page, and alphabetical order as a tiebreak.

Payment is not one of those factors. The code that orders organic results has no access to campaign data, which is a structural guarantee rather than a policy promise.

Match Score

In Ask LocalDubai, Match Score measures how closely a business fits the requirement you described: service match, category, whether the business is located in or serves your area, availability where hours are published, and other requirements you stated. Payment is not an input. Match Score is not a guarantee of outcome.

Appearing in both

A business running a campaign may also appear organically on the same page. Its organic entry is identical to what it would be with no campaign.

What we will not do

We will not present advertising as an organic recommendation. We will not remove or weaken a sponsored label on request. We will not sell a higher organic position, a higher Profile Score, a higher Match Score or verified status, because the platform is not built to deliver them.

Status of this document
